The Holy Quran mentions that the angels descend to Earth on Laylatul Qadr and that this night holds rewards equivalent to those of a thousand months. The significance of this night is marked by the fact that the Holy Quran was revealed for the first time during this night as guidance for all mankind and the first verses were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on the night of Laylatul Qadr (which is often referred to as The Night of Decree).

The month of Ramadan is a privilege conferred on us by Allah (swt), during this time we have the opportunity to repent and attain nearness to God. It is also a time for sacrifice and helping others, as Muslims it’s our responsibility to help those in need. By helping others, we will also be able to recognise and appreciate the countless blessings that Allah (swt) has bestowed upon us.

As Ramadan is coming to an end, Noor Orphans Fund urges its donors to remember the poor and the less fortunate in their dua and prayers. Giving charity on Laylatul Qadr is highly recommended, and the rewards for giving on this night are heavily multiplied. Those most deserving of our charity during this night are the orphans, widows and the needy.
