Marketing Executive

Location: Stanmore Office – London

Contract: This post is currently funded for one year.
We then plan to seek further funding to extend it.

Hours: Full-time (37.5 h/w)

Salary: £25K – £30K pa (depending on experience)

Noor Relief Fund (NRF) is a newly registered humanitarian aid charity on a mission to break the cycle of poverty. Our mission of change is currently focused on Iraq, Yemen, East Africa and the UK. Our office in London consists of a busy and energetic team who enjoy our friendly environment.

NRF concentrates on orphan sponsorship, food security, water aid, medical help, education and long-term projects. We have several campaigns running throughout the year and also respond to disasters and emergencies.

Job purpose:

This role is key in delivering strong printed and digital content in the form of videos, photos and other forms of content creation. You will work to engage with key stakeholders across the organisation to create engaging content to widen NRF’s reach. You will be the go-to for all thing’s “content” with Adobe Suite skills and photography/videography.

The postholder will work to attract and engage both existing and new audiences via our programmes of work, projects, campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the marketing department;
  • To maximise Income Generation through marketing across different platforms;
  • To drive the performance of our social media channels forward and ensure that we are creating engaging and shareable content;
  • You will be one of NRF’s contacts for capturing photo and video opportunities;
  • To attend events/activities (this may take place on weekends and evenings) to gain content, including not limited to photos, filming and content creation;
  • To support the Media team to create social media assets, including but not limited to video, social media images and graphics;
  • Be responsible for the production of imagery, photos and films promoting NRF;
  • Set clear KPIs and demonstrate ROI for activity;
  • Ensure all NRF’s fundraising communications are highly targeted and effective.
  • Plan, create and execute an exciting and engaging marketing strategy across all channels (Newsletter, WhatsApp, Social media, TV, radio, etc..) to engage with different age groups to maximise channel and audience engagement;
  • Work closely with the Media team to create effective marketing material that maximises exposure and engagement;
  • Respond to social media enquiries in a timely manner;
  • Able to use the appropriate analytic resources to drive strategic insight, review performance, optimise live campaigns and make recommendations for the future;
  • Manage SEO tools for the charity;
  • Experience of testing new tactics to optimise landing page conversion, online donation or list growth;
  • Create and manage a bank of always-on social media assets and posts, to ensure consistent presence of the NRF on social media;
  • Ensure social media posts/assets are aligned to the NRF brand and tone of voice;
  • Maintain the Google Ads account, ensuring that the Charity has targeted PPC internet marketing in line with our brand, messages and campaigns.;
  • Help to maintain a positive working environment; keeping the vision of NRF at the heart of everything we do.

Person Specification:

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to the Noor Relief Fund vision, mission and core values.

  • Proven experience in creating compelling digital and social media assets which drive engagement and amplify reach;
  • Excellent copywriting, influencing and communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, with an excellent understanding of Premier Pro, Photoshop and InDesign;
  • Good knowledge on the basics of taking pictures and videos;
  • Experience working in NFP/Charity sector, with limited media spend;
  • Experienced at delivering effective digital and social media marketing campaigns, including set up and day to day management of paid media advertising;
  • Experience in using data and analytics to monitor, optimise and evaluate digital marketing activity;
  • Experience in using an email marketing system;
  • Excellent time-management, organisational and presentation skills;
  • Quality focused with excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload and schedule;
  • Comfortable working with and analysing customer, sales and marketing data;
  • A flexible and strategic mindset;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Fundraising Manager

Job purpose:

The Fundraising Manager will aim to increase the contributions of individuals and groups by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities from events, campaigns and other sources. The role depends heavily on being able to forge positive relationships with supporters of NRF.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the fundraising department;
  • To maximise Income Generation potential through fundraising activities across all income streams including corporate giving, gift aid, events, community and support groups, major donors, legacy giving and trusts;
  • Develop a strategy that leads to increasing commitments from Major Donors;
  • Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising including social media;
  • Research and write funding proposals and cases for support and adapt as needed;
  • To provide the highest standard of stewardship to existing donors and supporters to maximise income and ensure long-term funding relationships;
  • Inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters;
  • Work with the Marketing team to produce materials for fundraising;
  • Represent NRF to the wider community as appropriate to role and authority;
  • Develop and maintain supporter database, ensuring that records are up to date, complete and stored and used in compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements;
  • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, manage, retain, supervise and develop a network of volunteers to support fundraising activities;
  • Attend fundraising and other events as required (this may involve some weekend and evening work);
  • Work flexibly according to NRF’s demands and carry out any duties with the competence of the post holder, assigned by the CEO;
  • To upkeep the reputation and values of NRF at all times.

Other Responsibilities:

  • To comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements;
  • To be willing and able to travel extensively and at short notice;
  • To have the flexibility to work additional hours as necessary (including occasional weekend and evening work) to fulfil the requirements of the role and meet the business needs;

Person Specification:

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills (flexible, clear, concise) and an ability to promote NRF in the community;
  • Experience of charity fundraising over a range of methods including organising fundraising events;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Excellent planning and project management skills;
  • Experienced in prioritising workload meet deadlines;
  • Experience of research, initiation and implementation of complete projects;
  • Positive and creative approach to developing new ideas;
  • Strong IT/computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…;
  • Skilled networking abilities to create opportunities that may lead to donations;
  • Line management experience is advantageous.
  • Good supporter/customer care skills and good telephone manner;
  • Ability to work within a busy environment, with no supervision.
  • Ability to plan and manage own time and workload;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
  • A flexible and strategic mindset;
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
