GIFT AID

For every UK pound that you give us as a UK taxpayer, we receive an extra 25p from government

Gift Aid is a scheme that allows charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer. This means that for every £1 donated, the charity can claim an extra 25p from the HMRC. The declaration covers all donations including one-off payments and regular donations.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can complete a Gift Aid declaration form to allow Noor Relief Fund to claim back the tax you have paid on your donation. This means that for every £1 you donate, the charity can claim an additional 25p, at no extra cost to you.

IMPORTANT: The Gift Aid guidelines require a Gift Aid Declaration Form to be completed. It provides us with the data we need to be able to claim Gift Aid on a donation. Gift Aid can be claimed on individual donations and sponsorships made to Noor Relief Fund.Gift Aid applies only to ‘gifts’. It does not apply to activities where an entry fee has been charged. This also extends to activities where the donor can’t be traced (such as giving to collections). To ensure we can claim the money back, it’s crucial that all the information asked for on the declaration is provided.

You can read our FAQs on Gift aid and you can also find more information about Gift Aid on the government website here.

If you already donated to us and want to check that you are gift aiding your donations then please call us on 020 8204 1167.

HOW IT WORKS

For example, if you donate £100, the total value of your donation to the charity is £125 – so you can claim back:
£25 – if you pay tax at 40 percent (£125 × 20%)
£31.25 – if you pay tax at 45 percent (£125 × 20%) plus (£125 × 5%)
